1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Good Contact, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and George Artemis Pty Ltd (ABN 55 692 993 132) (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of Good Contact. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Good Contact.
2. Description of Service
Good Contact is a privacy-focused contact management application for iOS and macOS. It helps you maintain meaningful relationships through contact storage, reminders, activity tracking, engagement plans, and import/export functionality.
Sensitive contact fields (such as notes, phone numbers, email addresses, and dates of birth) are encrypted on your device using your passphrase before being stored or synced. Some fields (such as names, company, and tags) are stored unencrypted to enable search and sorting. For full details of what is and isn’t encrypted, see our Privacy Policy.
Premium features include unlimited contacts, engagement plans, iCloud sync across devices, Apple Contacts integration, and calendar sync. Recurring reminders are available to all users.
3. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Install and use Good Contact on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac) you own or control
- Use Good Contact for personal or business purposes
- Access Good Contact’s features in accordance with these Terms
If you subscribe to Good Contact Premium, your license includes access to Premium features during your active subscription period. Premium features are available on all devices signed into your Apple ID.
4. Account & Security
Passphrase Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your encryption passphrase. Your passphrase is used to derive a master encryption key that protects sensitive contact fields (as described in our Privacy Policy) using AES-256-GCM encryption.
Encryption Key Recovery: Your master key is encrypted with your passphrase and stored in your device’s Keychain. This passphrase-encrypted key may also sync across your devices via iCloud Keychain (if enabled). As an additional safeguard, a double-encrypted copy of your key is stored on our servers — encrypted first with your passphrase, then encrypted again before upload. We cannot decrypt this backup without your passphrase.
On a new device, your key can be recovered automatically via iCloud Keychain, or by entering your passphrase to decrypt the server backup.
Important
If you forget your passphrase and do not have access to iCloud Keychain, your encrypted data cannot be recovered. We do not store your passphrase and cannot reset it. Unencrypted fields (such as names and tags) will still be accessible, but encrypted fields will be permanently lost.
Data Backups
You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data. While Good Contact provides export and backup features, we recommend regularly exporting your contacts. We are not responsible for any data loss, regardless of cause.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account and passphrase
- All activities that occur under your account
- Ensuring the accuracy of information you provide
- Maintaining the security of your devices
- Using Good Contact only on devices with standard iOS/macOS security features
- Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of Good Contact
- Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute Good Contact without authorization
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features or encryption
- Use Good Contact for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Overload, attack, or interfere with Good Contact’s infrastructure or networks
- Use Good Contact for commercial purposes without a commercial license
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access Good Contact
7. Device Security & Modified Devices
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for the security of your devices
- Good Contact implements industry-standard encryption, but these protections may be compromised on jailbroken, rooted, or otherwise modified devices
- If you use Good Contact on a modified device, security features including encryption and data isolation may not function as intended
- We do not warrant that the application will function securely on modified devices
- Use on jailbroken or modified devices is at your own risk
- We are not liable for any data breaches, unauthorized access, or loss of data that occurs on modified devices
- We reserve the right to decline technical support for issues on modified devices
9. Data Usage
Your contact data is stored locally on your device, encrypted with your passphrase. If you enable iCloud sync (Premium), your already-encrypted data syncs via Apple’s CloudKit. We do not access, collect, or sell your contact information. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to Good Contact, including all intellectual property rights, are and will remain the exclusive property of George Artemis Pty Ltd and its licensors. This includes source code, user interface designs, graphics, and documentation.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by law, Good Contact is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that Good Contact will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Always maintain backups of your data.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
12. AI-Assisted Development
Good Contact was developed substantially with the assistance of AI coding tools, including Claude Code by Anthropic. While we have reviewed, tested, and taken responsibility for the software, AI-assisted development carries inherent risk: AI tools can produce incorrect, incomplete, or insecure code that is not immediately apparent through review or testing.
By using Good Contact, you acknowledge and accept that:
- The application contains code that was generated or assisted by artificial intelligence
- AI tools can introduce errors or unexpected behaviours despite our best efforts to identify and correct them
- We do not warrant that AI-assisted components are free from defects, errors, or security vulnerabilities
- You are encouraged to maintain regular backups of your data (see Section 4)
Nothing in this section excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use.
This includes but is not limited to: data loss (including from forgotten passphrases, device failure, or software bugs), sync failures, security breaches on compromised devices, missed reminders, and business losses.
Where our liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (including the Australian Consumer Law), our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Good Contact in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $50, whichever is greater.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless George Artemis Pty Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your violation of any third-party rights.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales, Australia. In the event of any dispute:

- If informal resolution fails within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of New South Wales, Australia
Nothing in this clause limits your right to bring proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction, or to seek remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.
16. Termination
You may terminate your use of Good Contact at any time by uninstalling the application. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the service for violation of these Terms, including attempts to bypass security features or premium subscription requirements.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification. Your continued use of Good Contact after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
18. General Provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and George Artemis Pty Ltd regarding the use of Good Contact.
